Do you want warm, caring and highly experienced guidance for your pregnancy, birth and newborn journey?

Hi, my name is Nat, I'm a friendly and down to earth:
Birth Counsellor; Hypnobirthing Educator; and, Birth and Newborn-Support Doula.

Clients hire me to ensure they have a POSITIVE journey

Our work together ensures you have enhanced relationships with yourself, your body, your birth, your supporters, your medical team and YOUR BABY!!

My work includes a lot of fun and laughs working with clients - so much JOY can be shared and enjoyed during this journey!

As your birth approaches you may assume many things - as myself and MANY women do for their first birth.

But, only 2-4% of Australian women enjoy a natural physiological birth. And, unfortunately, many experience birth trauma.

Would appreciate fourteen years of specialist skills, knowledge and experience by your side for this journey?

Let's work together and ensure you experience birth the way birth was meant to be - with the birthing mother experiencing choice, control over her own body, loving care and respect.

Let's talk.

I'm available to chat if I answer, otherwise, leave me a message and I'll get back to you soon :) Mobile: 0406 934 645

Educator to the stars! I had so much fun as Private Birth Educator for the Norris Nuts!

What assumptions are you making?

Common Assumption 1

A really common mistake (which I made for my first birth!) is to go into birth assuming that midwives/OBs can calm us and tell us how to birth.

The truth is, birth is extremely HORMONAL and emotional and there is little a careprovider can do once a women enters her labour in a panic response.

(the work and preparation is needed BEFORE labour day)

Enrol together for a GREAT birth course to be ready in a great mindset BEFORE labour begins.

Common Assumption 2

Another common mistake is women, supporters and partners, going into birth THINKING that are well prepared!

For example, thinking the hospital course is enough - when it barely scrapes the surface.

For example, listening to tons of podcasts that can make us feel well educated, but maybe not get us prepared in the positive way we actually need once the hormones get intense.
For example, thinking online videos for education are enough - when the HUGE value is in face to face work.
For example - knowing things in THEORY, but not having worked them deeply into our body wisdom yet.

Solutions!!

Hire the right people for the right job!

A midwife is great to have at the birth, especially for the medical midwife care. BUT, for extra emotional support and personal care during EVERY day of your pregnancy and every hour of your early labour and birth, it is a BIRTH DOULA that women hire.

Personal Wisdom

I have learnt so much during my life, my births, and my career as a Birth Worker.

Long, long, ago, when I birthed my first child, I had no birthing wisdom of any kind, I was panicking and fighting my own body during that birth and it meant that birth felt torturous and scary.

The Birth Course I had attended gave me nothing to ground me and nothing to have faith in. I didn't even know what was happening to my own body.

A year after my birth, I was awakened to the world of excellent and amazing birth education. (examples such as: Hypnobirthing, Embody Birth, Calm Birth, Shebirths, Birth Into Being etc)

Fast forward fourteen years and I’ve now guided over 1,000 families as a Private Birth Educator, and I have guided and emotionally supported at least another 2,000 families as a Doula, Counsellor and Birth-Community-Project Coordinator.

As a pregnant woman, I wanted childbirth to feel special and celebrated during my care.

Born from this dream, the Newcastle Birth Movement is my gift to the local community, located in Hamilton, Newcastle, NSW.

At the space, myself and our volunteer team, run a counselling room, a preloved maternity clothing room and many wonderful workshops.

We also offer complimentary birth circles, trauma counselling debriefs and doula chats + more.Drop in for a cup of tea if you ever pass through Newcastle!

Pregnant and wanting information to enjoy a positive birth?

Welcome to my birth choices information and birth services website, Natalie Meade.

Birth Education

BIRTH CAN BE AMAZING - I promise!!

To experience the highest potential of your birth experience, ensure you get the highest quality of private, specialist, education (standard hospital courses don't cut it) and private support (eg a doula).

The time and energy you invest in your birth will reward you for your entire lifetime, subsequent births and your next generations too!

You are very welcome to chat choices and/or do a birth course with me. Nat

Birth Doula

A Birth Doula is a very special and helpful part of any families' birth journey.

Other supporters can end up too stressed, freaked out or too worried, to be present emotionally. IN the meantime, your Birth Doula remains steadfast by your side, believing in you and sending you the vibe “you’ve got this”!

A Birth Doula is there for you for the entire journey (pregnancy, birth and postpartum) – she brings birth education and information, she is emotionally supportive, reassuring and calm.

Online Birth Course

You can be anywhere in Australia (or the world) and we can work together via online, zoom, LIVE sessions. A new group starts each month. Always beginning on the the first Tuesday night of the month. You are very welcome to chat choices and/or do a birth course with me. Nat

You are in great company!

Here's what other parents are saying

Natalies’ Birth Education course enabled me to have a calm pregnancy and an empowering birth experience. My husband and I both learnt a great deal about natural birthing and nurturing parenting methods.

Amy and Rob - Newcastle, NSW

Natalie taught my husband and I amazing life skills that we have applied with our parenting technique and our work.

Ben and Gem - Central Coast, NSW

The classes definitely helped me to cope…In my birth I chose some minor interventions and I felt in control and happy about my choices!

Elisa - Sydney, NSW

I would recommend The Hunter Birth Education Centre to any prospective parents who want to alleviate the worries of parenthood.

Benjamin - NSW

Natalie gave me birthing confidence and confidence as a mother. The relaxation skills I learnt – I still use today

Emma - Nelsons Bay, NSW

Birth is important, you are important!

Respect and honour to the Awabakal and Worimi people as the original and wise custodians of this land. Honour to those who have birthed and breastfed their babies on this sacred land for more than 65,000 years.
