Looking for a birth-support, care provider, whose sole career purpose is ensure your needs, wants and desires? Hi, my name is Natalie Meade, it's lovely to meet you.
This statistic comes directly from the Maternity Consumer Network and can be derived from data from the Mother and Babies reports.
The truth is, birth is TOUGH and on top of that, your environment can make it way, way, tougher. (this is why GREAT, private, birth education is extremely important for birth preparation)
Many women, like myself for my first birth, assume that midwives/OBs can calm us and tell us how to birth. But the truth is, many women enter their labour with a panic response.
Primarily, too many women, supporters and partners, go into birth under-prepared physically, mentally and emotionally (and if you think a hospital education course you've done or enrolled in is enough - I am sorry, it barely scrapes the surface).
Women and families reach out when they are feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed and/or confused about the best birth care available to them. Within minutes our communications together has achieved validation, empathic listening, reassurance and helpful, calming information.
If you want birth education and birth support that is successful for your birth - no matter how tough birth gets and no matter WHERE you birth - then, let's talk.
Sincerely, Natalie Joy Meade

I have learnt a lot as a woman birthing, and throughout my career path. I birthed totally under-prepared the first time. The antenatal education I completed (in hindsight) was totally USELESS.
Panicking and fighting my own body during that birth, meant that birth felt torturous and scary. The Birth Course I had done gave me nothing to ground me and nothing to have faith in. I didn't even know what was happening to my own body.
A year after my birth, I was awakened to the world of excellent and amazing birth education styles such as Hypnobirthing, as well as, Calm Birth, Shebirths, Birth Into Being etc
Fast forward fourteen years and I’ve now guided over 1,000 families as a Birth Educator, and I have emotionally supported at least over another 2,000 births as a Birth Community Project Leader, Birth Counsellor, Birth Page Admin and Birth Doula.

The Newcastle Birth Movement
As a pregnant woman, I quickly identified a gap in the system - I wanted childbirth to feel special and celebrated during my care.
Born from this dream, the Newcastle Birth Movement is my gift to the local community, located in Hamilton, Newcastle, NSW.
At the space, myself and our volunteer team, run a counselling room, a preloved maternity clothing room and many wonderful workshops.
We also offer complimentary birth circles, trauma counselling debriefs and doula chats + more.
To ensure the longevity of this beloved community project, I also devote vital energy towards my private practise. When you choose to work with me privately, you play a crucial role in supporting and sustaining this massive community initiative.
Drop in for a cup of tea if you ever pass through Newcastle!
See what parents are saying about working with Nat:
Natalie's support, experience and knowledge is amazing. I felt so understood, seen, loved, and heard.
You gave me: trust in my body, you gave my hubby: confidence and in-depth understanding of birth.
Your dedication, knowledge, tack, care and diligence were exceptional.
Your teachings protected my headspace and transformed me as a birthing woman.
